To mail in a donation, click here to print out the form.   Annual Operating Support Unrestricted donations from our many supporters account for an important part of our current operating budget including portions of the costs of utilities, insurance, office services, general grounds and building maintenance and the minimum core staff needed to keep the Museum open to the public from May to September.     Capital Projects Energy Conservation (Cultural Center) -- the insulation, with foam on the ceilings and blown-insulation in the walls of the Museum's Cultural Center and the replacement of four low-efficiency furnaces with three high-efficiency furnaces.  We estimate full payback in 6 years - an investment in the Museum's future! - $43,000 in 2010.Donate Replacement of the roof of the Pioneer (Baumgartner School) - $10,000 Replacement of the roof of the Stager Depot - $10,000     Endowment Fund The Museum's Endowment Board, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation was established in 1990 for the purpose to accumulate, control, and manage a perpetuity fund for the Iron County Historical and Museum Society, with the long-range goal of establishing an endowment fund sufficient to provide, over the years financial assistance for professional administration and staffing expenses.  The immediate goal is to support the salary of a full-time professional museum director.  A goal of $1.5 million has been set for this purpose.  Although well on the way to realizing this goal, the recent economic recession has set back the time table for achieving this goal.  An annual solicitation of prospective donors, and the Wine and Cheese Reception, held in July each year are the Endowment Board's primary activities.     Special Projects Education programs for school children and summer youth workshops and events  $20,000 in 2010. Purchase of special computer hardware and software developed by the American Association of State and Local History, and adopted by historical museums around the country, to provide the Museum with archival and collection accessioning  and inventory control, and membership control and many other specific museum functions - $4,000 in 2010; $500 annually thereafter.   Ways of Giving The Iron County Historical and Museum Society is designated as a  501 (c) 3, not-for-profit, organizations by the IRS.  As such, all donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.  Receipts are sent out with all gift acknowledgements of donations of cash or appreciated securities.
